Prerequisites: Beginner
Learn how to quickly create beautiful earrings in Argentium silver by fusing wire to sheet. Then cut out the shape using a jeweler’s saw. In this class learn how to use a torch and solder earring posts onto your earrings. Additionally, Janet shares her tips and tricks from her 40+ years of metalsmithing.

Materials: (1 ¼” x 3/8”) 22 gauge argentium sheet (2 ea.), 22 gauge argentium wire (6”), 20 gauge wire for rings, ear posts (2ea), earring nuts (2ea), paste solder, yellow flux, solder, pickle, torch fuel, paper towels, Dawn soap, and printed handout.
Students should bring the following tools:Round nose pliers, flat file, fine tipped tweezers, needle nose pliers, and flush cutters.
Instructor will provide the following tools for use in class:Classroom Supplies Solder stations, solder picks, copper tongs, tweezers, third hands, flux brushes, lighters, water bowl, table protection, kiln bricks, charcoal blocks, pumice wheels, blue 3M buffs, green 3M buffs, brass brushes, torches, container for flux, flex shafts, keys, pickle pot, Joyce Chen scissors, fine tweezers, extension cords.
