Description

Perfect for demagnetizing tweezers, screwdrivers and other small tools and parts. It will also magnetize tools such as screwdrivers if you desire. This magnetizer has a high power to weight ratio and is housed in non-breakable plastic. It is a 120V AC intermittent use type, which features a 2-1/2" by 1-1/2" opening and is 300 watts. A necessary addition to any workbench.

Operating Instructions:

To Demagnetize:

  1. Hold the part to be demagnetized inside and in the center of the housing opening.
  2. Press the button down then slowly withdraw the part in a straight line from the housing opening for approximately three feet, keeping the part centered with the housing opening.
  3. Release the button.

To Magnetize:

  1. Hold the part to be magnetized inside and against the side of the housing opening.
  2. Press the button down for 4-5 seconds and release.

Duty Cycle (Intermittent):

The unit has superior field strength due to the relatively high amperage that it draws. The consequence is a fairly rapid heating of the field coil. It is recommended that a single duty cycle be limited to 5 seconds ON and 3 minutes OFF, or three 5 second cycles ON and 10 minutes OFF.

This unit is wired with a thermal protector. If the above duty cycles are not observed, the thermostat may open and the unit will not operate until it has cooled sufficiently. This unit is not intended for continuous duty.
